The second round of the 2007 Xtreme Karting Cadet Championship was held on Sunday 25th of February.
After racing in 4 heats, 26 drivers progressed through to the finals (A/B/C/D and E finals), based on points scored from their finishing position in each of the heats.
The second round of the championship provided some fantastic racing - with lots of overtaking and excellent driving on display! A number of drivers were racing in their first Grand Prix - and judging by the smiles on their faces they all enjoyed it!
Craig Mitchell cllinched his first ever win, with fantastic driving in the heats resulting in 4 wins out of 4 and a maximum 40 points! The first driver to achieve a clean sweep! Craig started the A final on pole position and managed to edge away from the chasing pack to take the chequered flag - much to his families delight!
Craig Arch came through from 3rd on the grid to take second place. Elliot Griffiths managed to come through from 5th on the grid to take the final podium position and 3rd place. Adam English managed to edge through to 4th from 6th on the grid, Bryan Webster dropped down to 5th and Craig Peden dropping to 6th.
The B final was won by David Hutchieson, with Ross Agnew closely behind in second place, Hayden Walker came through to finish in third, overtaking Connor Rae who did well in his first Grand Prix to finish in fourth place! Carl OBrian finished in fifth place.
The C final was won by Stefan vlahos, with Peter Henderson second, Simon McHarg third, Jamie Alexander fourth and Steven Wilson fifth.
The D final was won by Stuart Hamilton, with Ross Mcgovern finishing in second, Gordon Curry in third (the highest finishing cadet kart driver), Andrew McLaren was fourth and Liam Pow fifth.
The E final was won by Sean Lothian, with Max Alexander finishing in second, David McLaren in third, Jack Marshall fourth and Jack Nicol fifth.
