Xtreme Karting held its fourth Team Endurance Championship event on Monday 8th May, with 5 teams battling it out in yet another very exciting and close race!
Team Tei wan shu started on pole and maintained the lead for a long period, with Team Tyremaster following closely behind. As they approached the backmarkers Tei Wan shu took the opportunity to carry out a driver changeover, allowing Team Tyremaster to take the lead (although they still had their pit stop to make!).
With the rule changes introduced last month, a minimum of 11 driver changeovers were required, the pit stop strategy was crucial and led to a very close race throughout the 2 hour 10 mins (the race was extended after the teams finally all arrived on time!)!
With 10 minutes to go the last pits stops were frantically being taken, and this was critical in determining the finishing positions. The 75's were just 1 lap in front of Last again, but still had 1 more stop to make! After their stop, they exited the pits just behind Last Again which unfortunately ended any dreams of a podium finish!
At the end of the 2 hour 10mins Team Tei Wan Shu took the chequered flag 4 laps ahead of Team Tyremaster. In third place Last Again, followed by The 75's and Making up Numbers.
All the teams improved on last months race, and the championship is really providing some enjoyable and exciting racing!
